Amãna Bank has partnered with Daraz, Sri Lanka’s leading e-commerce marketplace, to offer the Bank’s Children’s Savings Account holders an innovative gifting experience. This partnership is groundbreaking, as it introduces the utilization of an e-commerce platform to incentivize young savers, and this achievement sets a fresh benchmark in the realm of children's savings.
Through this partnership, eligible children’s savings account holders will be rewarded with online gift vouchers that can be redeemed for purchases on the Daraz application or website. This new rewards scheme gives children the opportunity to select a desired item from a collection of over one million products specifically tailored to children, providing a unique experience that goes beyond the traditional gift schemes, where the gift choice is limited to a few items. Customers can also enjoy the convenience of home delivery for their chosen items, eliminating the need to visit the Bank to collect rewards.
Amana Bank will reward eligible children’s savings account holders with Daraz online gift vouchers ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 80,000. Such rewards are based on customers reaching a specific savings amount within a given timeline, and the eligibility criteria is communicated to customers via SMS, individually.
Commenting on this partnership with Amãna Bank, Managing Director of Daraz, Bart van Dijk stated, “We are delighted to partner with Amana Bank on this rewards programme, which enables Daraz to be an integral part of the financial growth and saving prospects of young savers in Sri Lanka. Our online gift vouchers will offer young users an unforgettable gifting experience that will motivate them to further explore e-commerce and digital payments. Daraz is well positioned to drive this change, with our wide selection of products, delivery services, 24/7 customer service, and promotional offers. We are ready to drive digital rewards schemes in Sri Lanka, and we appreciate Amãna Bank for taking this progressive step, which will contribute to growing the digital economy in Sri Lanka.”
Amãna Bank’s Managing Director/CEO Mohamed Azmeer emphasized the significance of this partnership by stating, “This reward scheme in partnership with Daraz exemplifies our commitment to nurture the habit of savings from a young age, assuring parents a rewarding experience for saving for their children. With e-commerce widely being adopted across the country, we find it apt to reward our customers through Daraz, giving them not only the choice but also many conveniences and offers.”
Vice President of Retail Banking & Marketing at Amãna Bank, Siddeeque Akbar, added, “Our collaboration with Daraz adds a new dimension to our Children’s Savings Account as we provide an unparalleled and memorable savings experience to the young savers. With most of such customers belonging to Gen Z and Gen A, this online platform with an extensive selection of products and seasonal deals facilitating multiple choices and options, merges both needs of savings and rewards harmoniously while taking out many of the complexities of traditional gift schemes.”
