The recent devastation caused by the massive floods and landslides in Sri Lanka has affected the lives of many families. 14 of Sri Lanka’s 25 districts, were affected by the most powerful floods ever recorded which has left approximately three hundred thousand people without food, water, electricity and other basic services. Amana Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility has commenced a series of activities to assist those affected in areas such as Wellampitiya, Malawana, Puttalam and Aranayake.
As part of our initial disaster relief efforts, the Bank together with the assistance of the staff and Amana Bank Sports Club contributed towards critical supplies such as dry rations, water, medicines, clothes as well as provided school stationery for students to ensure no interruption in their educational activities.
Beyond supporting the immediate needs, the Bank is working with various organizations to determine how we can assist in the long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts.
