Amana Bank recently introduced ‘Bank on Wheels’, in line with the need of the customers to get their basic banking needs fulfilled amidst the Covid-19 outbreak that has forced all citizens to stay indoors, subsequently disrupting their day-to-day banking activities. Amana Bank’s ‘Bank on wheels’ is a service that brings a mobile ATM unit to neighborhoods where the curfew is still in place; providing convenient cash withdrawal facilities to our customers and customers of other banks while supporting the government’s commitment to safety and security.
The Bank on Wheels initiative was deployed according to a customer-demand-based route schedule that is published in the Bank’s website as well as on its social media pages. Customers who want this service to visit their neighborhood can request through bit.ly/BankOnWheels. The customers using the Bank on Wheels facility are required to adhere to the safety precautions which includes maintaining a distance of 1m between customers in queue, wearing appropriate face masks and using the provided hand sanitizers before and after usage of the unit.
Commenting on this deployment, the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Azmeer said “From not having such a facility before, we were able to successfully launch our Bank on Wheels operations in a short period to facilitate banking needs in the current circumstances as well as the requirement from the government to reach out to the public to conveniently access banking services. I am really content that through this facility we have been able to reach out to customers at this hour of need along with other enhanced services through digital platforms. ”
Amana Bank has also made it convenient for its customers to register to Internet Banking from the safety and comfort of their homes in a few simple steps by visiting www.amanabank.lk
